VIRGINIA BEACH NEEDS A PERMANENT ROWING LOCATION!

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM VIRGINIA BEACH LEADERS?

The immediate need is access to property that will allow overnight storage of rowing equipment, coaches' launches/engines and supplies at a safe, central location with access to rowable water consisting of >2,000 meters.

This mission requires the endorsement and support of our City leaders, School Activities Coordinators/Directors, and local sport enthusiasts. As leaders, we need rowing infrastructure that is equitable to the facilities that have been provided to other recreational, scholastic, and competitive sports programs throughout the City and State.

There are 55+ high school rowing programs that practice daily on their local waterways in Virginia. Let’s work together to ensure Virginia Beach is not the only area limiting our students from having this unique opportunity to learn a new sport!
